THE HUMAN NATURE QUEST - NORWAY

The Human Nature Quest with Carine Roth

18-23 May 2026. We start with a lunch at 12 pm and end at lunch 12 pm.

Do you feel that a lot is happening in your life and you wish for time to process, for perspective and direction? Are you longing for connection with yourself and nature?

If these questions resonate with you, The Human Nature Quest can be a fitting time out.

There is nothing to achieve here. The invitation is simple: allow yourself to fully meet this moment. During this week, you will sink into presence, supported by the land and by an experienced rites of passage guide - Carine Roth.

From that quieter place, you may reconnect with your inner compass, a direction, a purpose, a meaning. This is a shift from living in a reactive mode to living with clearer choice.
Carine carries a simple teaching she received years ago from Meredith Little, co-founder of the School of Lost Borders, and it sets the tone for the whole retreat:

Be authentic. Keep it simple. Trust the ceremony.

This is not a fitness trip, and it is not a “learn plants and landmarks” hike.
It is guided inner work in nature, held through simple practices, mindful walking, council circles, silence, and a small group container that feels safe and mature.

What you will get out of it:

  • Clarity on a life question you have been carrying

  • Space to reset your nervous system, sleep deeper, and think more cleanly

  • Stronger self-leadership, less second guessing, more direction

  • A felt connection to land, body, and intuition, not just ideas

  • A practical next step you can bring back into normal city life

  • The heart of the week is a 24-hour SOLO time in nature.

You will be prepared for it, and supported by the team staying nearby (out of sight). SOLO is a held and intentional part of the process, designed to reduce outside input so you can listen deeply. Many people experience this as the turning point of the week, where things become simple and honest.

What SOLO means in practice?

You will be in your own spot in the forest, in solitude

No tent, max a tarp if needed. The aim is simple shelter and direct contact with the elements

No gadgets during SOLO: no phone, no music, no input

Fasting is recommended during SOLO, as a traditional way to sharpen attention and make the experience clearer

Safety is taken seriously. You are never “left”, you are held in a clear container

Spending time alone in nature, often with fasting, is a tradition that spans human history. Across cultures, people have marked major life transitions through vision quests and solo time in the wilderness, not to escape life, but to meet it more directly, then return with clarity and guidance.

Preparation, safety, and practicalities

You will learn what you need to feel safe and comfortable for SOLO, including how the solo container works, simple ways to regulate yourself, and how to work with fear, boredom, and weather.

You will receive a detailed packing list after registration. You bring your own personal gear based on that list.
